The Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations 2015 came into effect on 1 June 2015.
The aim of the Regulations is to prevent and mitigate the effects on people and the environment of major accidents involving dangerous substances. One thing to watch out for is the list of substances covered by the Regulations has been updated/ aligned to the CLP Regulations and some definitions have been changed.
This guidance on the COMAH Regulations 2015 (L111, Third edition) applies from 1 June 2015. The COMAH Regulations 1999 have been revoked.
