Peak HSE will help you to achieve and maintain accreditation of your environmental management system (EMS) for ISO 14001 certification.
We focus on helping you to make environmental improvements and cost savings by controlling environmental risks. Peak HSE will produce concise, well-planned documentation and photographs to illustrate environmental aspects and impacts.
EMS services include:
- Initial environmental review
- Preparation and maintenance of bespoke legal registers / evaluation of compliance
- Identification of impacts and aspects
- Gap analysis reports
- Documentation review and preparation
- Internal EMS auditing – assistance with meeting your Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements under ISO 14001, EMAS and Environmental Permitting
Legal Registers, Evaluation of Compliance and Update
Peak HSE can assist you in the creation and review of a Legal Register highlighting the legislation applicable to your organisation.
We will also undertake an evaluation of compliance with legislation and provide you with prioritised reommendations in an action plan.
Peak HSE helps with an Environmental Management System legal update service to ensure companies remain aware of current and forthcoming regulations which may impact upon their business.
Integrated Management Systems
Peak HSE has experience in delivering integrated management systems (IMS).
An integrated system addresses all elements of the management systems as a whole rather than looking at the individual standards and their requirements separately.
An IMS can reduce the duplication of effort often encountered when running multiple management systems. For example, if a business is running ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 this may result in the duplication of the processes needed for performing internal audits or recording non-conformities.
Environmental Review
Peak HSE will assist you by conducting an appraisal of your organisation’s current performance in relation to legal requirements and environmental best practice.
The format would be agreed in advance. Feedback would normally be in the form of a prioritised report and face to face meeting.
Waste Minimisation Audit
Peak HSE has considerable expertise in waste management, in particular through its parent company Independent Safety Services Ltd (ISSL).
We can provide you with a thorough service to identify where opportunities may exist for cost reduction through a review of current waste management and controls.
The objectives will be to minimise losses, encourage best practice, ensure compliance and to benchmark progress. Focus on the ISO 14001 elements of life-cycle analysis is fundamental to this process.
Environmental Permitting
To operate legally in the United Kingdom, many businesses require environmental permits and consents.
Peak HSE provides a service where it can assist you when applying for and maintaining environmental permits.
Our team of environmental experts can help your business to identify which permits you require and help you to prepare and apply for the appropriate permit, discharge consent or exemption.
We can also liaise with the Environment Agency or regulatory body on your behalf, helping to make the process as efficient as possible.
Packaging Waste Regulations
If your business or organisation produces or uses packaging, or sells packaged goods, you may be classed as an obligated packaging producer. Obligated packaging producers must follow rules which help to:
- reduce the amount of packaging produced in the first place
- reduce how much packaging waste goes for disposal
- increase the amount of packaging waste that’s recycled and recovered
These are in addition to waste duty of care rules all businesses must follow.
Every year an obligated packaging producer must:
- register as a packaging producer by 7 April
- meet their recovery and recycling obligation
- obtain evidence of compliance
- collect relevant data for reporting
- submit a certificate of compliance (CoC) by 31 January the following year
Peak HSE can provide advice, assistance and guidance on the impact of the packaging waste regulations, including waste minimisation reviews and packaging waste audits to calculate recycling obligations.
REACH Regulations
REACH is a retained regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.
It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests on animals.
Peak HSE can provide advice, training and practical assistance with the implementation of these Regulations affecting manufacturers, importers and users of chemicals.
Our health, safety, and environmental services can be provided as an one-time project or included in a “Retained Consultancy package”.
Retained Consultancy packages involve a client committing to a specific number of support days over an agreed timeframe, such as 12 months, which allows for discounted rates.
These packages deliver a range of support options, specifically customized for each client to assist businesses in enhancing their health, safety, and environmental performance.
